I will be moving to the Southeast section of Houston in May to work around the Genoa Red Bluff Rd. and Red Bluff Rd. intersection in Pasadena. There are two locations that I have found houses to rent. One is around League City and the other one is around Hwy 288 in Pearland. I have run distances and times estimates using Mapquest, but figured hands on experience would be better. I will be traveling around 6>6:30 AM going to the jobsite and coming back around 5>5:30 PM. It seems like I-45 would be more congested.

So the question is which way will have less traffic hassles?

I have no idea how the traffic is near hwy 288 in Pearland. But for League City, there is going to be major construction on 45 near Nasa Rd 1. Not sure where in League City you're looking, but another option is to take 146 north to Red Bluff.

There seems to always be some wreck or something on 45 making it a parking lot. I guess people just forget how to drive while on that freeway. Don't get me wrong it happens on 59 too but it doesn't seem as often.

I think League City would be great down 146 to Red Bluff - that's pretty quick -- although in the summer time - traffic gets rough going toward Kemah Boardwalk at the end of the day for the ride home.
