^Honestly, her chances at Carnegie are already very, very low because the school is so small. They have less than 400 students. Compare that to Bellaire with 4,000. The good public high schools are already very competitive to get into and have been for some time.

There is no secret; CVHS is NOT a zoned school. It takes people from all over the district. You have to apply to get in.

In THAT case HISD boundaries are indicated here: https://www.houstonisd.org/FederalSt...H%20SCHOOL.pdf - But there is no marking of small streets. Major freeways are indicated, and the individual HS maps mark streets. The individual maps may be accessed on the website.

True, its current enrollment is around 3,400 according to Greatschools and Wikipedia. Regardless, the point was that there's a HUGE difference between schools like Bellaire and Lamar (around 3,500) and a tiny school like Carnegie with an enrollment of around 350, and you should factor that in when considering your student's chances for admission.

Exactly. No way should you put all your eggs into Carnegie's basket!
