Which outlets in the house need to be wired together on a gfi circuit?

Bathroom, kitchen, and outdoors. Anything near water.

So I would loop these together? Say from the breaker box, I would hit the outside receptacle and then loop it to the bathroom and then to the kitchen sink.

I am not an electrician and can't tell you specifically how to do it. You'll have to figure up your loads and number of receptacles to determine the number of circuits needed. This is important stuff, consider hiring a licensed electrician to ensure it's done correctly and safely.

You can just put GFI outlets on any circuit. Nothing special about the circuit itself.

Local code says the kitchen MUST be 12g wire while the baths can be 14g. The kitchen MUST be a dedicated circuit and the fridge as well as the stove MUST also be dedicated circuits. All the bathrooms can be linked together.

Rather then installing many GFIs all in the same area, only one in series or parrallel will protect the rest of the circuits that follow the first. Another easier and sometimes cheaper way is to just use a GFE circuit breaker in the service panel. Then every outlet that comes off that breaker will be protected and you wont have to replace all those outlets in the house. Wiring a GFI can be tricky and I dont recomend it for the DIYer. GFIs protect your life and it's nothing to play with.

You can also purchase GFCI breakers and cover everything on each circuit that has anything to do with water and outdoors.

If you read the GFI outlet box, I believe the manufacturer recommends a maximum wattage load, so be careful about how much you piggyback off of one receptacle.

Also, make sure that your refrigerator is NOT on a GFI. The compressor on a refrigerator can lose over 5 milliamps at peak draw, which is enough to make the GFI think it sees a ground fault. You don't want to be throwing out all the meat in your freezer every week.
