I love my school . Wish I could be at the game, but duty called today.

Love it that state is being played here in Houston though.

Which division? 5-A Division 1 or 5-A Division 2?

Division II. The UIL needs to have the Division I and Division II Champs play each other for the overall state champions though. Wonder why it isn't like that.

Supposedly it is for "competitive balance." I guess maybe it's true in 5A where the largest schools are more than twice the size of the smaller ones, but it's still divided in a very arbitrary fashion. And it has no place whatsoever IMO from 4A on down. I've also heard the "well it makes the playoffs too long" argument. That didn't stop fourth-place teams from starting to be allowed into the playoffs though.

In 1997, Texas City and La Marque both won their respective division "state championships" despite sharing a district in the regular season.

But anyway...

Congrats to Katy. I saw them a few weeks ago against Dickinson. No big stars/can't miss college prospects, just a well put-together high school team.
