You can also check out the George observatory in brazos bend state park. They have an open telescope night where you can go out and see the planets and stars thru their lens.

A great download for anyone interested in astronomy. I recently downloaded it to my laptop (suggestion, go to google earth, find your lot, get the latitude and longitude, go to a latitude and longitude conversion site and set your exact location via the configuration icon), went outside, faced the two brightest "stars" and rotated the scene till it matched what I was seeing and not only was I able to identify the planets, but several major stars and constellations. Got so excited that I went to the land, sea and sky website to look at telescopes.
