Thank you all for the replies !

I never really go to downtown but If I go I always had to get one of those 10$ an hour parking slots. I will certainly not get one of them this time. That was WAY to expensive.
But since you said I should find free on-street parking I hope there will be some sport left.
Would my can be safe on the street in downtown though?

I will look into the rail to downtown. Should be safe I hope ( never used it before). Thank you for that as well!

Parking in the immediate area around MMP is a gyp. That's why the alternative suggestions.

Park a few blocks away and walk (street).
Who knows how far away you will have to park to find a lot or garage that isn't charging an insane fee for "Event Parking"

salvation army, $1.5 weekday, $4 event parking. $1.25 on a grassy lot across it
