Are there any hiking trails in the Katy area? (esp. around the 3 miles or so). I am also looking for longer trails to make a day hike around 5-10 miles(I got kids and they walk slow.lol)
Thanks!

I like No. 1 on Bily Lovec's list - Brazos Bend State Park for its proximity to Houston. TPWD: Brazos Bend State Park

But, take a look at Sam Houston State Park TPWD: Huntsville State Park too. It has a better variety of trails to choose from and is only an hour's drive north of Houston, about the same distance (or about) from Katy as is Brazos Bend. I think you'd like both places.

TPWD: Stephen F. Austin State Park

This park is on the small side. Heavily wooded and nice for a quick trip from Katy. Maybe worth checking out because of location.
