I have heard of alot about flood in Houston Texas. Which are the area that seem not to flood? Also I know they make resorvoirs to help control the flooding does this increase the chances of snakes and alligators living in these areas ?
I live in S Florida don't have sanke or alligator problem. I do not live near canals.

I found good info on efloodmap dot com. You can search by address, and zoom in to see map. There is also a good teaching about flood zone page.

Anywhere can flood in Houston if the weather is bad enough! Don't trust anyone about flooding. Get flood insurance just in case! Tropical storm Allison about 7 years ago flooded places we (Houstonians) never thought would be flooded. As for snakes and alligators......I've seen em before in large bodies of water and during storms in ditches close to residential neighborhoods. Houston is built on top of swamp lands.....keep that in mind!
