Has anyone had any experience working for STAR furniture? I applied there and they called me back and told me up front that you work all the time and on rotating hours, plus holidays.....etc......

I was tired after just listening to the hiring manager tell me that!

There must be a consolation in all of that and I hope that it is money and not all commission for those kinds of hours.

Any suggestions on other good places to work would be appreciated. I am new here. My wife got a good job so we moved from Tennessee

We have shopped at Star over the years and the ones we go to seem to have the same salespeople every time. That would indicate that its not a bad place to work, or that the money is good.

I'd imagine the money is good, considering their prices on a lot of things.

Talking A very good place to work!!!

I worked at Star Furniture - South West Fw location. Wonderful people, supervisor and great hours and pay. I go to church on Saturday & was off EVERY SATURDAY & was off on our Religious holidays etc. (I observe the Hebrew Calendar). I had a GREAT TIME working for Star. It all depends on how you approach the issue. If I ever return to Houston I would love to work for them again - They will always have my vote for excellance.
