Cypress Station is very confusing name.
It's insane because the area, isn't even that bad from a housing perspective. It definitely doesn't look like the worst areas, when you go into the bordering neighborhoods. Take in mind though, something the video neglected to mention is that, the map doesn't include Houston/ other City police reports. So it's only highlighting the worst unincorporated parts of the city. IF it was juxtaposed with only incorporated Houston, I don't think the neighborhood would be as bad. Other places that show up is Cloverleaf/Mission Bend-Alief/Parts of North Katy-S. Mason Road 1960 and 290. The majority of places are adjacent to high crime Houston areas.

To be honest it's largely areas with businesses, so it's hard to discern true high crime areas, form areas that just have high daytime/nighttime populations, just because Unincorporated Harris County is roughly half if not a third as dangerous overall as Houston city limits.

I quit taking gun with me in a car a while ago because I am worried if it gets stolen from a car. And also I am not that confident if I can safely drive and shoot at the same time. In Houston it's important to develop special shooting skills like driving and shooting from a windshield. The best solution is to drive James Bond car with built-in machine guns and missiles, but that's not going to be cheap. Need to think about an armored vehicle as a cheaper option... not that cheap as well, actually.
I am wondering what if you are just a witness: can you legally shoot fleeing criminal's vehicle like in this situation?

If the criminal is fleeing and no longer posing a threat? No, you can't shoot them.

You should probably never shoot and drive at the same time, unless it is absolutely necessary. In the 45 years I've lived in Houston, I can count the times I needed to shoot while driving on the fingers of no hands, ie never.

Shooting through your windshield is likely to get you hurt.

Right...this caught my attention.
Somebody shot criminal's vehicle when he was leaving the scene on Buffalo Speedway.
What consequences that person is facing now?

Regarding shooting through the windshield, this video is quite inspirational.

This guy successfully did it a year ago.
It was pretty wild!
I admit in the same scenario I wouldn't be able to drive and shoot at the same time.

Shooting a criminal's vehicle as they are fleeing can result in charges, should the DA so choose, or may not have any consequences. I know that I would not shoot at a fleeing criminal unless they posed an immediate threat to someone else, ie continuing to shoot.

Meh, don't worry about it. You will be out on PR bond in a couple hours.
