The sellers are leaving a 2 year old rather large generator at the home. I plan to buy some additional supplies tomorrow. We’re also supposed to move in this weekend but with predictions of a storm, I am not sure we’ll be able to but I will see.

Any other tips/advice?
Assuming that it does develop and the predicted path stays to the South of us we'll just be looking at a lot of rain, not a whole lot of wind. Because this is developing in the Gulf it doesn't really have a whole lot of time, space and water to get to CAT5 strength (not that it can't but it's very unlikely). Chances are if it does become a hurricane it'll make landfall as a CAT 1 or 2 at the most. I'd make sure the generator runs and make sure you've got enough fuel on hand to run it sparingly for a couple days, you don't need to run it 24/7 to keep your fridge/freezer cold.

If nothing else, enjoy the lower temps and breeze, it's rare this time of year.
