Just checked that I'm about 28 miles (driving) from one of the antennas so one of these 50-mile antennas should be good enough..

Default Outdoor antenna owner here...

A few months ago, I put an aerial antenna outdoors, the Winegard 8200U. It is overkill for most, but I figured, what the heck. I also put a rotor on it so I can adjust it if I need to without getting up on the roof. I get about 150+ channels, but a lot of them are religious channels, not sure why we need so many, but that's a different topic. I also get channel 3 from Bryan.

I used to have an antenna in the attic, but I would get artifacts now and again, specially when there were storms, and sometimes I could not get the low channels. Now I get everything, crystal clear always. Nothing worse than watching TV and then having hiccups, or freezing. For movies and things, I got a ROKU Premier box and we have Sling Blue, and Netflix. We can cancel at any time, and we are happy with what we get and don't feel like we are paying for programming we don't want, or watch. We had DirecTV for 12-14 years, and played their games, but they always find ways to increase the cost here and there to make up for any loss, we just got tired of them.

What part of town are you in where you are getting KBTX? I've been wanting to pick that one up as an alternative to the Houston stations, but have not been able to since the digital switch over. I'm down by Stafford and have a Channel Master Ultra up in the attic. I get all of the Houston locals loud and clear.

1.5 miles out of downtown, in Montrose.
