Heard that the closing of Sharpstown Mall is coming sooner than most thought. With the mall being 25% vacant and with the news the Finger Furniture and Macy's is moving out, is Sharpstown Mall finally coming to a close?

The mall is just plain ghetto. It's ashame because of it's prime location just off Hwy 59.

What should become of Sharpstown? Should it be torn down and developed or turned into a park?

Anyone familiar with Sharpstown have any word on what they think?

The owner just did not pay his taxes that is what happened. A 15 to 20 acrea park would be nice but the land is worth to much like 5mill to 10mill for that I bet there will be like 3 to 4 big chain stores built there

I thinks it's destined to become a Walmart, or Super Target or Homedepot.

That WOULD be nice, and much-needed in that area. But sadly, I think you're right about what will go there in its place.

It needs to become green space. What will actually happen? Who knows... hopefully no more apartments because the area is already ridden with them, thus much of the high crime around there.
