Does anyone know where you can sell the leftover granite from your kitchen renovation project? I have more than enough left for more than one bathroom counter, coffee tables, or even a small kitchen counter.

If you can't find anyone that buys it - you can donate it to Habitat For Humanity, for a tax deduction. They have a location about Jones/Grant.

Ditto on donating to HFH. They will pick up if you also donate your old appliances.

Sell it or give it away on Craigslist, especially if it's prefab granite. People really don't want mismatched granite.

You can also make an outdoor table top or top it off your outdoor kitchen counter. It matches your kitchen.

I used to be in the granite business. No one wants leftover pieces. Too hard to sell. We always sold slabs to homeowners, and usually made them pick them out so there wouldn't be any questions later what it looked like. We offered whatever was left of the slab(s) to the h/o, because we couldn't resell it.

Give it away, or keep it for replacement use later.

Would Habitat for Humanity come and pick up the stone if I donate it to them?

If renovations are common in your neighborhood, you could post it on your nextdoor forums and have someone take it for free or maybe even sell it.

We removed granite counter tops. Our contractor didn't want to discard them. He tried to find somebody who wanted them. Nobody did.

His contacts were hesitant due to uncertainty of cracking during removal.

Since your granite is already whole, just call Habitat. They do pick it up. They have picked up a bunch of stuff at our house.

You can try:
Upcycled Stone - The Granite Recycling Center of Houston, Texas
or http://houstongraniteremnants.com/

- and see if they are buying
Good luck!

I know most don't buy leftovers but I have bought remnants at a great discount for countertops from companies that had granite left after they completed a job.

An excellent idea. Outdoor kitchens really add value, also.
