I love being able to go to the beach thru October.
I would not say any time is horrible and we have had only two major Hurricanes in twenty years. Alicia and Ike. Heat is heat we have lots of a/c to counter it. You need a jacket to eat at restaurants in the summers!

There is not enough AC to counter the heat for me Never needed a jacket in the summer here and rarely even in the winter.

You remind me of my sister..who can't even stand Ohio weather when it gets above 72. She came to visit in June (!) and nearly died of discomfort. Then there is my other sister who also came in June and would go for 3 mile runs in the mornings and LOVED it here.
Me being in the middle- I don't mind heat as much here or cold as much there as they both do. Everyone's themostat runs a little different, I guess.

Yep that's me, love it really cold Funny my mother is about as opposite from me as a person can get, she is extremely cold natured, which causes problems in the winter, she wants the heat on, I don't. I really wish I was more cold natured.

^^^Why not try Chicago or Minneapolis if you like cold. Both are nice cities...and you get all the cold you want. I can see why Houston is not your ideal if you like cold. I never thought of NC as cold.

I think you should move to Alaska. I bet you would still login to this board and complain about the weather in Houston.

Well, there's always the option of sticking a nice cold piece o' celery (or another vegetable, it depends on your taste) fresh out of the vegetable crisper down your pants to cope with the heat...and other things. Works every time, just like God!
