Hey all. Looking to remodel my kitchen countertop and want to make sure I make the right decision and not have buyers remorse. Looking for a nice showroom to bring the wife to check it out. Also please recommend a granite contractor that does good work and a fair price. Thanks!

Where do you live? Don't know showrooms, but know good and not expensive people.

Here's one on Long Point by Hemstead, GME (Granite Marble Etc.): Granite, Marble & etc, Inc.. If I remember correctly, their granite slabs are placed outdoor and way in the back. Very large company and mostly granites from Brazil which is a good choice of granite.

Another location that may be a little closer to you Master Tile Colours, located on SW freeway close to 610: http://www.mastertilecolours.com/. They used to be Colours of the Rainbow and located much closer to you on I-45 South. That was the location I visited back then. They had many beautiful exotic granite slabs; although, I don't know how they are now.

These places can recommend you to a granite fabricator/installer as well.

Just a headsup, most of these granite yards & showrooms open until 1 or 2 pm on Saturday & close on Sunday.

Tips:
- It's best to narrow down your choice of color before arriving to one of these location. It will help you to stick with that color and not going crazy with too many beautiful colors of granite.

- Bring a camera and take as many photos as you can of the slabs. It will allow you to narrow down your choices once you're home and more relaxed. I even took photos of the beautiful ones that was not included in my selected colors. Just wanted to have and drool over them.

- If you can, make a layout of the countertop/s with measurements. The granite yard rep. can guide you to see how many slabs you'd need. I did my homework in advance and found out all I needed was 2 slabs vs. 3 slabs from what the installer quoted me. Of course, after I showed the fabricator/installer how the slabs needed to be cut, he agreed.

- Keep in mind, not all granites are alike. Some are easier to fabricate (cut) than others which results in the final labor cost.
