So I commute from Spring ( 45 @ Cypresswood) to I-10 @ Park Ten Blvd, and it roughly takes me 35 minutes on a good day, and 40-45 when there is an accident. This past week has been 50-55 +++

But this past week it has been horrible in the AM, pretty much stop and go from Beltway @ 249/Fallbrook, through the toll, and right before merging on to I-10 West.

The PM commute, has been horrendous, I would normally get on I-10 East bound and only catch traffic right as I merge to get on Beltway 8 North. This past week it has been stop and go from Highway 6 all the way to Beltway 8, and up all the way through the 290 toll.

My commute is from 8:10AM and 6:00PM , i work 9-6 shift.

Is it because of Highway 6 being closed??? Is N. Elridge Pkwy closed too?

Is that 290 toll ever going to become all Ez-Tag, holy crap, can people learn how to merge and drive fast??

Rant Over, guess i'm tired of paying a toll to sit in traffic.

Good portion of Hwy 6 are closed for a month. People are using alternative routes this week to get to work.

I-10 frontage road eastbound at BW8 has been backed up too. The first time I hit it, I thought 10 was the problem, but once you get on the ramp just west of BW8, 10 is flying. Must be people trying to get onto BW8 north.

Hwy 6 is closed. Barker Cypress, Eldridge, still have issues I believe. Then you have Memorial completely closed until August just before Gessner and major construction on Memorial at Kirkwood ongoing for the next two years. Add that all up !! No surprise traffic sucks going west and north.

My half hour commute at 4:30 is now 50 minutes to an hour.

I travel that daily. And you're right this week has been worse. Its because of the Hwy 6 closure (section between I-10 and Clay), people have to find alternate routes.

Clear example of why the problem is not "highway expansion"
the problem is that Houston needs better alternative routes to reduce the number of cars on highways

Westheimer Parkway between Barker Dam/Westheimer and Fry Road is closed due to high water. That route also carries a fair amount of east-west traffic at rush hour, and that traffic is re-routing to I-10 also.

I commute from near Memorial and Hwy 6 to near Dairy Ashford and I-10. My regular commute has been a breeze lately because there's virtually no I-10 feeder traffic trying to get on northbound Eldridge (except for a trickle of cars turning off on Dairy Ashford). However, trying to go into town after work is a joke. The I-10 feeder is backed up from the Beltway all the way to Dairy Ashford.

C'mon people...work from home if you can!

I am west bound in the evenings and takes almost 45 from 610 loop to Kirkwood...

I thought i was being clever in turning into voss road and use the memorial drive, but finally ended up detouring to Bunker hill drive back to I 10

Add to this the female drivers constantly looking up and down - ie the phone and the road.
