If you don't mind getting your hands dirty (figuratively speaking), order some Demon WP and a chemical sprayer from Amazon and do it yourself. I've used for the past year (one application in spring, one in fall), it has worked better than the sugar water that the big box stores sell, and just as well as pro services we've used in the past. Only roaches I see are dead ones around the exterior perimeter of the house.

Is it normal to have them in the garage? Went in the garage yesterday night and saw a huge one... Ran to hide underneath something. The garage has been sprayed rough'y 4 weeks ago... Thank you

The deluge of extreme rain forces them to take refuge in dry, easily accessed places. A garage is a prime place. Also, if you have rotting cardboard boxes and papers they will get in there.

This reminds me, I need to pick up a garden sprayer from WalMart (I purchased the Demon WP packets about a couple months ago).

I've been using Demon for a few years now and really like it. It's inexpensive and easy to apply. I bought a 5 year old home a year ago (i've since sold it but that's another story) and I can tell it hadn't been treated in a while. Opening the dishwasher one day, a huge roach skittered across the door crack. I immediately went to work spraying outside the perimeter, in the garage and in cupboards (and around the dishwasher haha) and within 48 hours I found a half dozen big 'uns scattered about the place. I usually spray about every 3 months or so.

Might as well put an IGR in your Demon as well when you spray it. Use some professional grade gel as well and you should be trouble free as long as there isn't some pile of trash for them to breed in.

Nope, no trash, we just need to organise the garage a bit better. The inside is neat and clean as well, no clutter, just a few books and some files in shelves. Is Demon safe around pets? I have cats so it has to be safe. (And they like to hang in my cupboards (the empty ones) don't ask me why... They just open them and sleep inside... So I need to be wary about gels and stuff.

It claims to be safe for pets and children. It dries with a slightly white haze. I only use it outside around the house. Same with the gels. I out it around the garage and a dot here and there around the exterior. Its really more of a precaution since the gels poison and the bugs will take it back anywhere others may be hiding.

Demon WP is fine around pets. I had (he was just put down this past Friday ) a cat and he was fine around the spraying. You don't need to saturate the inside of the cabinets, just a light spray in the crack, then leave the cabinets open to dry.

I once watched a video about the application of Demon, I "swept" 2 feet up, and 2 feet down against the house as I walked the perimeter. They also suggest around the outside of the windows, pipes, etc...the exterminator in the video said the trick is to keep them from entering the home in the first place, thereby eliminating the need to spray indoors (I used to do a light spray in the kitchen and bathroom areas though).
