Hi, does anyone have any information on Memorial Northwest in Spring? Is it a family neighborhood? Lots of kids? I know the schools are rated highly. On MLS listings they are advertised as having low taxes? Does anyone know what the tax rate is? Other places we are looking at are over 3%. The houses just seem to have more character than some of the newer communities. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have a particular neighborhood in mind? Plenty of family oriented neighborhoods. Klein ISD is a great school district. Visit http://www.greatschools.net/ to get more info on the schools. The combined property tax rate has a range from $2.4 to $4.2 per every $100 of assessed value.Hope that helps.

Tax rate is 2.52 in Memorial Northwest and 3.30 for newer section. I live next door to Memorial Nothwest, a nice neighborhood with alot of kids. My kids have many friends who live over there and my kids also go to the same schools. Doerre middle school is located within the neighborhood as well as Theiss elementary. They have a great community pool and low HOA fees, I believe it is like 350./year.
I do alot of open houses over there on the weekends. You can really get a great buy.

What is considered the newer section? The houses we are looking at were built in the late 80's. Thanks

There is a small section of newer homes built in the 1990's, the street names are cedar trace, shadow valley(althought this street is in the older section also), bristle pine, tizerton..these are just some of the street I can think of. This section actually backs up to Champion Springs and has its own entrance.

The newer vs. older sections are pretty obvious. In the "older" sections the houses are typically 2400 to 3200 sq ft, the newer sections have much larger homes 4000+ sq ft.

I was actually referring to section 23 which has homes from 2500 sq. ft on up. I don know what section you are speaking of but that is on the other end closer to Steubner. Section 23 is off Louetta and does not go through. it almost seems as if it is part of Champion Springs bevause it is not connected to the main part of MN. At any rate, it is very nice.

The house we are looking at is in Section 16--it was built in 1986 and is 5,200 square feet. In fact, a lot of the older homes I found to be big like that. Is section 16 considered the old or new section as far as taxes go?
I have not been there yet, that is the reason for the confusion. I am just now researching online. Thanks

That would probably be considered the "old" section with the lower taxes.
