My husband and I are are planning to move to Katy after he retires at the end of the year. We are currently living in the Ft. Worth area. I am looking for suggestions as to which subdivisions we should be looking in for housing. We plan on spending $350k-$450k and would like to own a home no older than 5-7 years. We would also be open to new construction as well. Katy or the surrounding area would be ideal. Any suggestions would definitely be appreciated. Thanks.

We've been in Firethorne for ~6 months and it's quite lovely. Cinco Ranch is nice as well, and Cane Island looks like it will be a good option but for higher taxes if you want something actually in Katy proper.

Firethorne, Pine Mill Ranch, Cross Creek Ranch, Churchill Farms, Tamarron would all fit what you're looking for.

Definitely look in Cross Creek Ranch as they have Patio style homes that might be right up your alley.
