It can be common for a HOA to deed restrict commercial vehicles. Possible reasoning is a home is a residence and should not be used for commercial use which includes storage of a commercial vehicle. Do you really want to see a huge F650 Utility Bucket truck parked in your neighbors house? However the downside is it can constrict all types of work trucks including a light duty truck.

what type of "truck" are we talking about here? a light duty truck or a dump truck?


A lot of hoa's don't like you running a business our of your house period anyway.

I don't blame the HOA. I wouldn't want to live next door to someone with a commercial truck in the driveway or parked on the street.

Thanks everyone for your input!! The truck is not a 3/4 ton truck, does not have company logos, there is no driveway, we have two cars parked in the garage now, one car is used M-Th to commute to/from work, the other car is used Fri-Sun for work and cannot be used during the week, so the garage is not used for storage like so many who park their cars on the street oh, and the streets are private. To answer a few questions.

In the bylaws there are accommodations the board can make and are making. For instance a family with 3 drivers, one car can be parked in a guest space. The sales man in the new community told us and others that that part of the street would be designated at additional parking since there are no homes on that side of the street and the street is the same width as the other streets with homes on each side. uhg. He lied. But, yes, we acknowledge the HOA rules did say no parking on streets. However, InTown homes builds many communities and the bylaws are often just copied and pasted. We know because we bought another InTown Home property in another community and the by laws mention streets by name that are in a whole 'nother In Town Homes community. Go figure.
