I feel your pain. Honestly, the only thing that really made a difference for me was allergy shots. They have truly changed my life. When I sneezed once last week, I was truly taken aback because I had not sneezed in what seemed like forever. Allergy shots for the win.

Do I have to see a doctor for this?

My son takes Zyrtec and nasacort daily year round since we moved here. If he forgets by lunchtime he's a sniffy mess.

Timely thread. I started having my yearly allergy symptoms from this morning. I get those usually around mid March. I guess Spring is early this year.

One of my favorite things about having moved to Houston from Buffalo three years ago was a cessation in my raspy throat, post nasal drip and cough. It just disappeared....until a couple of weeks ago. Now it's back with a vengeance. So maybe it's just a bad year.

Agree on the allergy shots. Helped me too. In the interim a Neti pot every morning can do wonders once you get used to it.

Sinus rinsing helps a lot. Use the NeilMed squeeze bottles and salt packets.

You need to see an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) specialist.

I'm the kind of guy who rarely gets sick and just toughs it out when I do. Never saw the doctor (except for a yearly checkup). Never had allergy issues (I'm from the midwest).

One day in the spring a few years ago I came down with what I was certain was the flu. Aches, sneezing, could barely haul myself out of bed. The wife finally prevailed upon me to see her ENT.

After examining me for about 10 minutes, ENT said i was having a reaction to a big tree pollen bloom from central Texas. Gave me a single steroid shot, Rx for Nasonex, and some recommendations for over the counter meds. Between the shot (immediate relief) and the drug recommendations it was almost total relief of symptoms.

I was shocked at the low cost for the appointment (mostly covered by insurance) and how dumb I had been not going to an ENT for all those years....
