Hello,

I'm moving to Pearland TX from Michigan and I'm looking for an apartment. I am a CNA and already looking for a job. I am looking to move in December. I have a 4 year old daughter as well so any school advice would be helpful as well. Thank you so much in advance for any information.

Section 8 Apartments for Rent - Affordable Housing & Application Information | We Take Section 8

I think there are waiting lists though for low income housing.

uh-oh..I cringed when I saw this message, because instead of finding possible solutions to your question, the keyboard terrorist are going to come and eviscerate the entire section 8/housing/welfare program....good luck in your search

So instead of taking the voucher why not find a cheaper apartment?

Use the system to get grants to get more education instead..

for her to go back to school, she she would need to work only part time at most to have more time for studying... but she might not be able to make ends meet even with a cheap apartment.. working part time.. hence why the voucher would be helpful.

plus the cheap apartment might be in a bad area.

Not true.

I lived in Pearland in a 1 bdrm apartment, went to school full time and worked full time. It can be done. I didn't have a child so that is one thing to consider. There are apartments on the east side that are very affordable. Anything is possible.

I haven't lived in Pearland, but raising a young single child alone, working and going to school at the same time is difficult, so section 8 would make things easier. with the affordable apartment she might have to work full time to make ends meet and have less time to spend with her child.

If you didn't have a child, then your experience, and therefore this comment, are basically irrelevant.
