I was talking to a friend of mine recently from San Francisco who mentioned that he furnished his new condo almost entirely with furniture from Asian furniture shops. Apparently there's alot of them in the SF Bay Area that sells wooden furniture at a much cheaper price than the regular furniture name brand folks.

I was wondering: are there similar shops in the Houston area also? Has anyone bought furniture at these kinds of shops? Would love to know what people's experiences have been like.
Thanks in advance!

Go to Bellaire BLVD...there's a lot of Asian furniture stores down that street, you can negotiate the prices on everything...and usually if you pay by cash/check, it's tax free.

Try Home Source. I always liked the warehouse on the beltway near I-10 west.

Thanks for all the responses so far!
Anyone have any reviews of their experience of buying from the shops mentioned?

Nah. I only know that they exist.
However, I visited the rosewood furniture store with a friend interested in Asian style, and they were very nice and well made.
