Where can I look for doctors that don't take walk-ins, geriatrics or kids in the area. Tired of setting appointments and waiting over an hour to get in for basic checkups.

Has to be a place for generally healthy folks, to check cholesterol blood pressure and such.

I always set my appointments first thing in the morning. That way I'm the first in line. Hardly ever have to wait more than a few minutes. Luckily my doctor lives just a few minutes from his office so he's on time too.

Kelsey Seybold also has their Executive Health program

There was an ear nose and throat guy my mom used for all sorts of general issues, Dr Conrad. He unfortunately retired this year, but I think the main way he avoided the lines or whiny kids is that he didn't take insurance and catered to professionals. I imagine you have to have significant clout to not take insurance and still do well, but we've been looking for someone like him ever since he retired. He would diagnose countless things a gp would, even if it had nothing to do with ear nose and throat issues, and I was always in and out of his office in 20-30 min. If you find someone let me know!

I goto the medical clinic of Houston in Rice Village...My particular doctor never keeps me waiting, but it may be because he is a little younger in his 40's probably and does not have as large a client base yet....or maybe he just keeps to his schedule, but I have never waited more than 8-10 minutes.

My annual is all done in an about an hour....all labs pee/blood/, etc in the building...nurse visit, doctor, done.

Our doctor is at Medical Clinic of Houston as well, and we never wait very long to be called. It's one of the best practices in town.

I also recommend Medical Clinic of Houston. I also try to get an appointment with them first thing in the morning. If you are coming in for a physical, they start some of the tests before 8 a.m. They also have lots of specialists on site to do EKG, bone scan. etc. They take most insurance.

Some concierge doctors do not take insurance and you have to pay a hefty annual fee just to be on their list of patients.
