Are there any retirees or young families in Huntington Village these days (dairy Ashford/bissonet in Alief)? Is it safe?

I have friends with small kids in Meadows Place nearby, but not Huntington Village. It generally gets safer as you get closer to Sugarland, so the more SW you go the better it is. There's not a whole lot of crime outside of the few concentrated pockets of Alief close to Westpark tollway and the beltway so I wouldn't constantly live in fear, but random crime is certainly on the upswing from 10 years ago and I would not call the area safe.
