Good luck with the admissions process. While these schools provide a stimulating environment, one can be just as successful going to local schools. It's more about the individual's drive, desire, and capability than the school. I went to my local no name schools, but ended up going to college with alums from Kincaid, St. Johns, Phillips Exeter and Andover. I easily held my own and then some with them academically.

not enough information to make a decision. sports? how important is religion? how smart is your kid, and how well does he/she handle pressure? where do his/her friends go?

Local schools? St. John's and Kincaid are local...

But that was 40 years ago... the world is a different place. Some public schools offer a great education. Others, not so much.

SJS is not a religious school. I don't think Kinkaid is either. There was a non-denominational chapel for upper school students on Wednesdays (I don't know about lower and middle school) when my sibs and I went there from the late 80s to the late 90s, but it was not religious.
