Because Peets bought out Caribou coffee up North and then closed most of them down. We don't want the same to happen here.

Common Bond has amazing espresso and cappucino, plus the list of quality coffee shops in town is staggering. Chain coffee places in Houston outside Starbucks? Not so much..

I agree that Peets is probably one of the best in-store coffees you can buy. Actually, the best coffee I have ever had comes from a small company in Conneticut - Deadly Grounds Coffee. I know it is a bit strange...they are a horror themed shop, owner drives around in a hurse...etc. However, the coffee is amazing.
