Me and my husband want to build the pool, something like that:
(I found this picture online)

http://julepowen.com/wp-content/uplo...as-812x610.jpg

We don't want to have very big pool, we also don't care much about the spa, all we need is the normal sized regular pool.
The reason I'm asking here, because when i call to the pool companies they say: the price starts..
But when i hear "starts" i may never know where it ends until i see the bill
So if you build the pool in Houston, could you please share a little bit of your experience, so i will have an idea about the prices.
Thank you

You should be able to get something simple like that for around 30K. I have built 2 pools in Houston so far.

That looks like a sub 20K pool to me, ~15K. Why am I so way off?

Maybe you have better hookups than I do. I haven't met a pool builder that builds pools for 20K or less.

If that's a 20K Gal pool shouldn't cost more than 20-25K. Is very very basic. if is a 15K Gal pool no more than 20K for sure.

You're going to spend your life pulling grass clippings out of that pool with no decking and only 12" of coping

One thing I'd to to my pool if I did it all again would be to have lowest section of my deck eight inches higher than the surrounding ground. I wouldn't want any of it level with the ground.

If you look at the drawing of mine, the 'other side' has the decking and the ground at the same level. The difference in the amount of grass clippings and leaves that come in from that side when a decent breeze is blowing is enormous. Leave will drop down on the ground, and if there is a westerly breeze, they tumble over the grass and right into the pool. When the yard guys mow, there is grass clippings on the far decking but none on the close decking.

Where are you guys getting this? I haven't met a pool builder in Houston who'll build for less than $40k.

I'm more in line with Pedro. I'm about $105k into mine including the pool, fire pit, palms, sprinklers and outdoor kitchen.

Well you got taken mate :-) I have very similar pool with yours and Pedros's except the outdoors kitchen which was built with the house for 37K 4 years ago. Shop around mate. I did get 60K, 80K quotes but decided to continue shopping. My pool is perfect with zero issues to date. I can send you pictures, I can show you the final bill...

So 15-20K for such a basic pool is doable. Shoot, I will find them a builder myself for that price.
