What is perceived as a good school today, may or may not be a good school in 10 years.

What is considered desirable is a matter of perception and income. Good schools follow high dollar real estate.

Your kids are young. Most any elementary school will be ok. Get a job. Get your bearings. Their education is as much on you as any school. There are plenty of decent schools and well intentioned people all over the area. The world does not revolve around any specific part of town or ISD.

To clarify: "Eado" is the area just east of downtown that's filled with new 3-and 4-story townhomes. Greater Eastwood is a revitalizing area located east of Eado. It's made up of several neighborhoods filled with early 20th C. bungalows, cottages and foursquares. Glenbrook Valley is near Hobby Airport and is known for its MCM houses. Both Greater Eastwood and Glenbrook Valley homeowners take pride in restoring and maintaining their historic homes. Unfortunately, quality retail is slow in coming to the east side of town, so most residents must drive to other parts of town for groceries, clothing, etc.

Don't commit to The Woodlands the traffic into town sucks. If you need access to good schools look at Katy or Cypress. Katy has better schools, but both locations keep you close to Houston so you can get a job downtown (far), Energy Corridor (Close), or the Galleria (in between ) areas.

Planning out where to live is premature until you have a job offer. You likely won't end up in the Big 4, which are all located downtown, but at a smaller firm so it could be in any corner of the city. Starting salary for staff accountants isn't great - you probably won't be able to afford to live comfortably in the loop until you have a few years worth of promotions/raises.
