We are mainly interested in Pearland and CCISD, but I'm trying to get a feel for how things are in the area in general. We will be moving to the area within a year and have lots of school aged kids in tow

Currently in NM, I've had my kids in classes from 22 kids to 30 kids. What are you all generally seeing in your kids classes for K-5? I also have a middle schooler. A lot of the school review sites list their student:teacher ratios at 16 or 17:1, but I know that doesn't generally represent true class sizes. I know class size isn't everything, but after working in the schools here in NM, its appalling to see a 1st grade teacher trying to reach 29 six year olds....

Pearland has been very good in terms of class sizes. In k-4, they never had more than 24 kids. In 5th and 6th grade, it may be 25, but mostly, it's been 22 to 24. In jr. high, it is allowed to be higher again, but my granddaughter has not had more than 30 and I think it is less than that. Not sure about the high school. The K thru 8 all seem to be rated at 17 to 1.

I have no idea about class sizes in any other isd.

The state of Texas has removed most of the class size waivers in Kinder through 4th. Most classes in most schools will have 22 or less, although there are a few still using waivers.

According to the teachers at my kids school here in NM, they can get waivers for every grade except for K. Gotta love the private school class size! Lol but the other ones aren't too bad considering. Any input from CCISD?

24 kids in my kid's elementary class at FBISD. I am not happy at all. They were packed like sardines in there.
