It's not indicative of the residents in that neighborhood, but it's still shocking that it happened. There's a growing glut of cheap apartments on the other side of hwy 6 which hasn't helped crime out in this area at all. Also funny how you changed the word 'near' to 'in' for your thread title..

Straight up ambush and execution according to the HCSO comments. I'm absolutely sickened by this. Suspect is still at large as of this post too

This could happen anywhere. Even in upscale neighborhoods like West University/Bellaire.

What's going out there? How about what's going on in this city? Thugs have declared war on this city and its citizens. How have our worthless city leaders responded? They've done nothing.

Maybe pant suit porker can have another gay pride parade and all of this foolishness will resolve itself overnight.

^^^ sadly there are always those that use a tragedy to pump up their own agenda. Have a little respect and leave politics and any other garbage out of this.

Houston crime is nothing compared to how it was in the 90s so not sure what you mean.

Which is amazing when you think about it. I was listening to KPFT and heard we have the same number of cops as we had several years ago, when the population was MUCH smaller.

Yep. I specifically remember areas where cops would not go because they would get shot at. People think Houston is rough now lol.
