Hi all,

Our house comes with the sprinklers on front yard and on left and right sides of the house. However, we need to add sprinklers in our backyard. Our house is on 60 ft wide lot and has a standard sized backyard. Can someone please discuss how much it costs and recommend some names?

Thanks!

I have a couple of these that work pretty good:

Melnor 3900 sq. ft. Deluxe Turbo Oscillating Sprinkler-4100 - The Home Depot

Of course you will also need a hose for each one. And I would also recommend a timer for each one as well.

I was looking at doing the same thing at my house. A friend of mine recommended Rich 281-701-7015 with Rainwell Irrigation. I have not contacted them yet but my friend gave them a glowing review. We are putting a pool in so we are waiting till that is done before doing a sprinkler and landscaping. Good Luck

We used Louden's Sprinkler, Landscape Lighting, and Mosquito Misting - Home********************************************** *************** * * * * * * * * * 281-890-1737 several years ago, and so did several people on our street. He pretty much only advertises by referrals. He may not be the cheapest, but his crew is top notch. You could just barely see that they installed the system if you were looking for it since they did such a good job with the trenches and cleaning up. Two weeks later and there was no sign at all. So far, only the timer and rain sensor needed replacement, after about 12 years. Rest of the system still works great.

Only issue I could see on cost is that it is a small job, maybe 2-3 zones, so it would be priced a bit more per zone. Hopefully you have room in your timer to add the zones so you don't need a new one. On a larger install I've seen prices in the $250-300 range per zone, but yours might be more like $1K to add on 2-3 more zones. Louden's price might even be more, as we paid about $280 per zone when we had ours done, but that was a complete install, not just an add on. Our back yard has 5 zones (one drip for patio, 2 for yard, 1 for flowerbeds, and 1 for garden) and the front yard has 3 zones.

Good luck!

$300 a zone seems to be about the going rate for sprinkler installs around here.
You may be able to negotiate a better price depending on other factors.

I also used Loudens earlier this year to install a system in my front and back yard and they did a great job. They were also the most reasonably priced out of the 5 quotes I got.

Another vote for Louden's. Had him install two systems and they did a good job at both homes.
