Pedro, this is the absolute one time that I can bet the rent money that you don't have a clue about the people at the Chronicle.

Ben and Jerry's is own by some foreigners. It could be that Blue Bell is the last American owned ice cream company standing.

That is a distinct possibility.

The important thing is that their homemade vanilla is, hands down, the best vanilla ice cream you can buy at a grocery store. Since it is the base of many other flavors, I'd make the claim that it is the best mass produced ice cream. This isn't opinion, this is fact.

True, it is owned by Unilever, but the agreement allowed the original owners at least some control.

Interesting article about that:

It doesn't matter what's said or printed. I have faith in Blue Bell.

If the Chron wanted ratings/sales they would have tied some headline grabbers together. Like...

Well, I like the media for exposing the lack of corporate accountability and safety just for a short-term profit. Don't blame the messenger, blame the Blue Bell for not eradicating listeria and God know what other bacteria growth in their factories.

I'm not saying that I want to crush them out of business as that would not be good for the local economy. Like mad cow disease problem several years ago, simply clean up, rectify the problems, pay your fines, settle your lawsuits, and move on.

Lets blame the liberal boogie man
And ignore the fact that the Chronicle had a whole section called "Rick Perry Presidential" and had nothing for Ron Paul or anybody else

The fact is Blue Bell has known for over 2 years that the listeria was in their plant. They knew it for more than just a few inspections. They should know listeria can kill compromised people since they sold to hospitals.

You can get pizzed at the Chronicle, but there is no denying that Blue Bell knowing sold product that they knew was being made in a contaminated plant. That is all the Chronicle told us. The Chronicle probably can't sell the paper to line bird cages in Brenham anymore. I suspect they knew that would happen when the ran the story.
