Thanks,
I don't trust any of those shell companies who take big donations to do the right thing. 'Sorry, but I'm just being realistic. I would donate only for the tax benefits, not because I feel they would do the right thing. In fact, I donated a Ford Explorer once, perfectly good condition, but it was done so only for tax purposes. Also, shortly after that, they laws changed and one could no longer get the real benefits, something they don't tell you now. You are better off selling it yourself, and then donating the money yourself.

I'm not saying that they don't donate money, but don't think they are going to donate much of the profit. If you are old enough to remember the United Way scandal, you'd know what I was speaking of. Salaries also are a good indication of where the money goes. I'd rather give to a local charity where results can be seen, as in a food bank, etc. Do some research. Check this story, there are many of these stories out there:

Looked in to it but they give you a lower value than selling it and donating the money.

Find a private school that accepts cars as donations instead.
