Spoke with a number of dog owners at other dog friendly places who said they didnt like Boneyard. Nonetheless, I heard that raised rent was also a big issue.

Boneyard was a mess, we went a few times. Too many groups of owners would show up with big, high energy dogs, and then just drink with their friends and not pay attention. I saw, on several occasions, dogs get on tables and a few fights.
I knew a few people who loved it, but we never had a good experience there.

I have no problem with big dogs, but when your 90lb dog is tearing around with another 90lb dog, jumping on tables and knocking people over(the place was normally pretty crowded) it isn't the place for your dog. Your dog needs a big open park to tear through, not that place.

We have a pug and a doberman and go to dog parks. Have been to Danny Jackson Bark Park (Westpark), Millie Bush Bark Park, Bill Archer Bark Park, and Katy Dog Park. Katy Dog Park is our current favorite. All have a large and small (under 25 lbs) dog section. I take them to parks to socialize them and let the doberman RUN around. I jog with my dobie after work and play fetch with him in the morning but that is not enough for a working dog. Keep an eye on your dog. When you see someone you don't like then move your dog to another area of the park.
