I don't think there are any apartments in that area that command $2,000 a month.

The apartment market in Houston is really hot especially around energy corridor and beltway 8/westheimer area. There aren't many safe and newer apartment complexes. So the few which are fairly new have very high rents. I don't remember the apartment name but the one close to Gessner and Westheimer had many 2 bedroom apts which started from $2200 for a 6 month lease. A while back I recommended someone at Portico at West 8 on Seigler and Westheimer and they were sold out for 2 bed room apts. They actually had a waiting list. Average rent for 2 bedroom was $1800-$1900 range. Similarly, Camden Whispering oaks close to West Houston medical center had 2 bedroom apt starting from $1700 & up. These are some of the newer places I know and have friends who live there. The rent in this area is really high even though its not that safe. You do have $800-$1000 per month places but they are not new and generally less preferable.

After some internet scouring, I found it. Called the Alta City West apartments. Pricey indeed. Small studio starts at $1200 and a 2b/2b tops out just over $1920. Looks like there are some unique options that can be added to the plans, which of course raises the price.

The Landry's and Bank building that were at the Northeast corner of Westheimer and Fondren are also in the process of being torn down for a new fancyschmacy apartment complex. I believe fancyschmancy is the technical term for these types of developments.

This Demolition Marks the End of Prosperity on the Corner of Fondren and Westheimer | Swamplot

There's an article on swamplot about that Crest project. Used to be a good Landry's! I'm shocked any Landry's would close.... ever.... That looks super neat!! Alta has a lot of properties in that area. They seem to build good complexes. How neat. I am so excited for that area to take off. I loved living around there. People complained about the westheimer traffic, but I had anything and everything I could need within a mile in either direction.

Yeah, if they end up updating that area and cleaning it up a bit, it'll be a hot spot for young professionals. It's a GREAT location...I would LOVE to live in that area again.
