I went off sales in that subdivision in the last 3 months. It won't appraise.

I checked sawbuck since nuhabitat is not working

And I observed that for the last 4-5 months, there is substantial price increase in 77063

The website only lets me go up to 1 year back. I saw one house sold for 220K back in July 2013 and I can swear, not it cane be easily sold for 280K

It is that crazy

What's the rent in that area?

$250k sounds reasonable, it's still close enough where you can get to most places with just the local roads. If you think this is crazy, check out the "real" galleria area, west u, bellaire, or midtown.

Many people, not just Asians are moving in for the engineering jobs from O&G. I know a UK citizen got a relocation package to bring his wife and kid here, on top of a salary increase, he is entitled $4k for monthly expense. That's crazy-- and guess what, he's buying a house with that $4k allowance.

Do you think the smart phones are over priced? I surely think amazon stock is not worth that much, but I dont dare to short it.

Supply and demand. That's all (others have probably already said that; I haven't read through the thread).

[mod dit- no link single properties] Looks like it sold for $240k. $9k under listing. That is 25% higher on a $/sqft basis then I paid 1.5yrs ago.

The assessment values for HCAD this year are certainly reflective of the hot market. It won't be very much fun for any home owner, it seems. Make sure you file those protests this year.
Seriously? I had a 15% increase in my appraised value last year. that was accounting for the change in ownership. how much are we talking here?
