Just killed the third one in two years. Finding them in our garage - and we live in a brand new build.

I grew up in the country and am amazed that I haven't seen these until I moved to the SUBURBS.

Anyone else seeing this? We've put off exterminators thinking they weren't necessary, but I'm rethinking now. Any recommendations?

We had two on our front porch about a month ago. I had never seen one until then. Had exterminator come out and respray, and haven't had any issues since.

Brand new suburbs are especially teeming with creepy crawly critters because they were countryside not that long ago.

Black widows are one of the very few critters that give me the willies. Snakes, no problem. Tarantulas, no problem. Bats, no problem. Sharks, no problem. Black widows, problem.

Scorpions are also a little unnerving to me for some reason, but nothing like those dang widows.

With all the new construction going on you are bound to see a few. When we first moved into our new home 7 years ago in that area, I would kill anywhere from 5-10 a week. Every other day I would go around the house and yard and spray the ortho home defense. Eventually they went away or I killed them all. I haven't seen one in 6 years.

What neighborhood in Katy? We're building and would like to know if I need to hire an exterminator!
