Hi everyone! I need yall's opinion....I'm a single mother currently living in conroe. I go to Lone Star College-Monygomery and will be applying to their nursing school and Tomball's as a back up. I've been thinking about moving out to Montgomery. I hate conroe its so busy and dirty. I was wondering if Montgomery was a nice place to live?? What are the pros and cons? Is the humidity worse than conroe? How much higher are the taxes? Is it more relaxing/peaceful? What areas should I look for a house? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Montgomery is nice. Much nicer than Conroe IMO. Humidity will be the same as they are not far from each other.

montgomery is getting to be pretty busy and hectic as the surrounding development is quickly building in. you can get some nice land, home and pool for $350,000 still. i only imagine it will get more popular and more expensive relatively quick as people want to be "close" to the city but still have land

you will most likely be on septic and well so you "save" money on that if you have a home

Is it as busy and hectic as Conroe? Is it even similar? I really, really HATE Conroe lol and I hate all the traffic. I'm not looking to live on a lot of land. Just a 3 bedroom house. Is Montgomery a good place for kids to grow up?

Not as busy as Conroe, but just with all the growth in that area its going to eventually go the way of Magnolia. Right now it still is a small town with minimal development and a good place to raise children.

Dopo OMG I wanted to say that, but didn't want to offend the natives lol. Yes, Conroe is very trashy IMO especially around 336 loop by walmart...I can't stand this place. I used to live in Houston moved to NY for 6 years and came back to Conroe because my mom is here. I can't wait until my lease is up so I can get out of here!

Default Concerned about high ratio of sex offenders

My family and I may be relocating to this area. We are looking for a smaller town with smaller schools and Montgomery seems to be a good fit for us. My only issue is the high number of sex offenders living in the area. Montgomery is currently listed as having an 8-1 ratio of general population to sex offenders. I am wondering if there is a reason why, and if other parents feel safe living in this community. I would love to find out this is an error and there really aren't that many living here!!

Very good schools in Montgomery ISD. You can get a nice house in April Sound or Walden.
