phoenician does have hallal.

you follow hallal because you are devout or because of humane slaughter laws? bc if you are a vegetarian you wouldnt be eating hallal. if it is purely for ethical reasons lots of chain groceries in the city carry kosher meat. the kroger by me may even have hallal. i wouldn't be surprised.

yes we have vegetables in all grocery stores so there isn't a problem finding things to cook. any grocery store will also have frozen veg brands quorn, boca, morningstar, lightlife etc.

to pick up some cooking get some veg cooking books or start collecting recipes online. you will find the average grocery store here in Texas is comparable to the best stocked large market in the UK.

There are at least two halal markets in Houston, that I know of, in addition to Hispanic, Asian, Polish, etc. It's sure not hard to find something to eat in Houston.

They are building a Whole Foods on Louetta/Cutten Rd. There are a couple of Middle Eastern restaurants on Louetta that I know of. Also another one on 249 just north of Louetta so they all should be convenient for you.
