I have plans to move from Corpus to Houston in late Sept/early Oct. and I am in need of some recs for apartments. All bills paid, trying to keep it under $600 or $700/mo and in a relatively safe area. I'm 18 and it's just myself. I'm trying to stay in the inner loop as well...

I also heard the Lantern Villages were good but it's in Gulfton and I haven't heard too many positive things about the area...

Thanks so much!

Gulfton is a very bad area of Houston. 600-700 will be in a bad complex no matter where you are in Houston. Even the suburbs are more expensive than that. Apartment prices in Houston have flown up lately. To live in a decent complex you are going to have to spend at least 1000. It is that or welcome to the hood.

This is quite true. You may find a duplex or fourplex that comes close to your price range. Check Eastwood if you are stuck in that price rage. You may have to drive around the neighborhood as it is very common for the owner to just put a sign outside. It is in the loop but does not really have a lot to offer for conveniences, nightlife or shopping. I am purely speaking from a price perspective here, the neighborhood is not great, but there are much worse places in Houston.
