Hi all,
A friend has a daughter who will be coming to the U.S. in July to start at a private high school. She has a choice of where to attend and one of the spots is Brazonia. Can you tell me about the area? I see that it is close to Houston and so I was thinking that she might have a quiet small town experience as well as having access to a bigger city. Is it a good area? Are people friendly? Are the beaches accessible?

Thanks!

not as close to Houston as you think...way out the boondocks...

Angleton or Lake Jackson would be better for a newcomer as they're bigger towns and have more newcomers...Brazoria is all families who know each other

Agree with the above. Don't underestimate the size of Texas.

I think student would be bored in Brazoria. If they have private school options in a larger city, that would be better.

Thaks for the info and correction (Brazoria). Yes, I was a bit worried that it might be on the small side for her. She's from Guangzhou, China, a city of close to 13 million.

Brazoria has a population of like 3 or 4 thousand and is an hours drive from Houston so that may be a difficult adjustment.
