I'd like to hear from those in Houston about their cell service. Currently I have not been too happy with Sprint however after doing much searching on Google I've found my HTV EVO 4g LTE phone might be to blame. They say it is well known to have antenna/reception/software issues. I very seldom see 4g and sometimes it even drops to 1g service. I do like the unlimited data option however I'm getting pretty fed up with current performance.

So tell me about your provider and what you've experienced especially if you're on sprint. Also if you don't mind would you state the phone you're using since that may be the culprit. I'm heading to the store in a few days to have mine checked but want to know if I should drop and go with someone else or if it is all the same.

Thanks!

I have been using tmobile for 3 years. It is strong where I live in westchase area (west of Houston) and poor where I work in the Galleria (I think mostly because the building nears us bouncing the signal!!?), it is average near/around University of Houston, and very poor in Sienna Plantation (where I will be living). Friends tell me that Verizon is better, however, I want to stay with a GSM phone system, I will probably check ATT next time my contract is up.

I had the same problems with my EVO4GLTE on Sprint. Swapped it out for an S3 and have been enjoying LTE all over Houston for a while now. Sprint, nor HTC, ever wanted to acknowledge the problem, but it was evident. Switch phones. Or wait a bit until the S4 drops.

i had Sprint for 10 years and have never been able to fully enjoy 4G speeds, despite living just on the outside of many major cities. I made the switch to verizon last month and wish I wouldve done a long time ago. I purchased the Droid DNA and it is great. I have excellent reception and signal, except when Im trapped inside the office at work, and have 4G speeds at all times. I live in Richmond and work in Sugar Land

I've got a Galaxy Nexus on Sprint and travel all over the Houston area for work and get 4G nearly everywhere, I've seen a huge increase in coverage over the last 6 months. They are still upgrading to 4G in some areas and every tower should be 100% complete by early next year.

I won't give Sprint any money. They locked me in for 2 years and told me that 4G was coming to tulsa and after 2 years nothing. Then begged and pleaded for me to stay with them after I told them to cancel my service.

Today we find out about the Galaxy S4. Between that and a HTC One perhaps this can turn out ok. Just have to do a trade-in with the current one
