NC doesn't have much at 6000 feet. Most mountains average around 3000 ft. I believe Mt. Mitchell is the highest at 6600. And it has a winter there, but nothing extreme that sets in for 3 months.

This would be the extreme area:

Like I said though -- you can have that winter weather. I'll take yesterday's 82-83, thanks.

I'm sure that peak of NC is spectacular in the summer though.

Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful winter day in Houston -- today too for that matter.

Summer in the NC mountains can't be beat. But make sure it's the ACTUAL mountains. Asheville is mega steamie in the summer. Even places like Blowing Rock don't get as cool as far Western NC.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but it felt more like a spring day than a winter day.

Winter has decided to roll in again, or at least some nice spring weather. I like it.

I was jogging in shorts and a tshirt saturday. Definitely couldn't do that back when I was living in Seattle or Chicago during this time of year. I really like the winter here.

Honestly, once New Years is done, I could care less about the cold weather. I much prefer the cold weather leading up to Christmas and New Years!
