What is the price range you are looking at?

We live in northwest Houston inside the beltway, DH works downtown (originally Galleria) and kids go to school near the 610W/I-10 exchange. For us the commute along 290 is no problem, and we love our neighborhood and very convenient location. Lots of trees, walking trails and lakes, two parks and pools, tennis courts, etc. Our neighborhood is Woodwind Lakes and the only active listing at this time is for $440K, but that is at the higher end for this area. Other neighborhoods nearby include Rolling Fork and Laurel Creek inside the beltway.

I have a sister who enjoys living in Hearthstone near Copperfield, north side of 529. (She is also complaining about the changes to 529.) They are frustrated with the traffic along 290 outside the beltway, and just getting to 290 along West Rd. can take them a while. (When we first moved here I wanted to look in that area but DH drew a bold line at the beltway, and I admit we are relieved daily we didn't cross that boundary.) If you don't mind the commute from there, it is a nice neighborhood with lots of amenities close.

Price range around 125-130,000. My daughter goes to school near westpark and Richmond and that our main priority. We want to live in a quiet neighborhood but are willing to drive 15-20 miles to my daughter school. What help is that my wife where my daughter goes to school so that help a lot.

Really suggest The Colonies. Quick trip from there down Eldridge to I-10 - and in your price range.

Ah, you probably want to be more westerly than northwesterly then, being on the south side of Galleria, and cheryjohns and others here would have better advice. Best of luck to you!
