It is me again - we are relocating from Chicago to Houston this summer and have been focusing my search in the 77079 zip code. I recently asked about zipcode 77021 which was way off base. So sorry about that - not sure how DH came up with that one! Anyway -- besides 77079 we are looking into Katy, this is what I am told from DH's recent visit:

"The area to the west, past Baker Reservoir is NICE. Really nice. Most places west of the reservoir and east of 99 looked ok. There are nice homes, trees, trails, tennis courts, a Y.... There were even cyclists gathering for rides (Friday afternoon, right). This area has easy access to 59, the Westpark Tollway, one of the only highways that is not completely congested. This tollway gives an easy way to work, into the downtown areas of Houston, and west (to git out of town if necessary, such as before a hurricane or when going to Corpus Christi. The area closest to the Westpark tollway is a Cinco Ranch neighborhood, but not the brand new version

So clusters in the Green Trails/Kirkwood area ...maybe Kirkwood Estates, Green Trails Estates, Kirkwood Forest, Cinco Ranch Estates"

Does this sound right and any specific zipcodes to search? I am finding zipcodes are the easiest to search on HAR.com

Thanks you for the help!

I'd still go with something closer to the I-10 e.g. Greentrails. the I-10 not tolled (add $40/wk to commute, but it has that option) and IMO has the best shopping off of it. Westpark tollway has no free option and puts you south of westheimer, not quite the same thing.

Also include 77094 which is the eastern portion of Katy south of I-10. This area is really hot right now because of it's proximity to the Energy Corridor.

What Cheryjohns said: 77450 and 77494 are the zip codes I'd be looking in.
