Hi, could you please advise on what is the age range for kindergarten in Houston?

What are typical hours for kindergarten?

Do private schools/kindergartens offer after hours daycare or we need to make our own arrangements?

What is the average cost?

Is it too late to apply to private school/kindergarten in May to start attending in September 2013?

Does the fact that we are Canadians make a difference in our acceptance criteria?

Any good kindergartens/private schools in vicinity of Energy Corridor?

Moving to Houston from Canada. Our daughter turned 4 this January.

Thank you very much!

Stan

Yes, but there are wait lists. EDIT: Depends! Check with the school, of course for public schools registration isn't until August.

Yes, if you're a leafs fan you're SOL.

Yorkshire Academy, there are others. Where are you living? You might be zoned to a good public school and save the money.

When we moved here from oversea 3 years ago we put our child in yorkshire academy. We were pleased with the school. A lot of expat kids ,great diversity. At YA they have before and after school care. I 'm not sure about the cost though. Our child was at YA for pre-school and pre-k then we enrolled him to one of a public school in katy isd when he turn 5.
