Could someone please answer this one for my husband and I! We've been driving past this house for a year at least (you can see it from 99/Grand Pkwy)--it was a large house in Grand Lakes and obviously completely burned out, top missing and everything. It has to be a criminal investigation or something?? Can't imagine that the HOA would allow it to remain this way otherwise.

My wife and I say the same thing every time we drive by. We found it funny that it hasn't been torn down and replaced yet.

Not to mention it looks dangerous. Surely a realtor on here must know?

It's due to close in about 2 weeks (foreclosure), so I imagine work will get started on it. I hope they got it a lot cheaper than list price - it isn't going to be cheap to re-build.

Thanks. Found it on HAR. $191k does seem steep for the land and the pool.

The land is appraised for $102k. The improvements appraised for 351k for 2012, almost $50k more than in 2011. Didn't realize a home fire could raise the value so much :-)

In my last neighborhood (with an HOA) there was a house that burned down. It sat untouched for at least six months, and was of course an eyesore. I guess it takes quite a bit of time for all the insurance investigation and processing to occur, demolition to happen, and reconstruction to begin. I don't think there's really anything an HOA can do to speed up the process.
