My wife, daughter (8), and I are moving to Houston. 5 years ago we lived in Houston in Woodwind Lakes just inside 8 by Jersey Village. We like the sub division, espeacially the full grown trees but we want to try something different. Preferably new home, but at least 5yrs or less. 300k-400K range, quality vs quanity. Frankly we are open to all areas from Summerwood, to Cypress, to Sugarland, to Pearland. Tha is the problem, so many choices. Here are some preferences

Great schools, lakes, running trails, retail, prefer a new suburb, and would like to try and keep the commute to 30 minutes from downtown. Do like the idea of being South, i.e. closer to Galveston, Kemah, ct, but it seems you give up retail and trees.

Any subdivison recommendations and builder (type of homes i.e. Dave W, qualility is a must)

Thanks in advance
